http://www.realgmbaseball.com/images/mlb/4.2/wiretap/team/nyy_40.gifThe Yankees have a message for Alex Rodriguez: sign an extension before opting out of your contract, or don't sign with us at all.

A source told the Daily News that the Bombers have made it clear to A-Rod and his agent, Scott Boras, that they have no intention in taking part in a free-agent bidding war for the two-time American League MVP, and that if he chooses to opt out of his current contract and open the bidding to the rest of baseball, his days in pinstripes will be over.

Rodriguez has until 10 days after the World Series - Nov.10 at the latest - to opt out of the contract.

The teams who will most likely make a push at signing him should he opt out of his contract:

- Cubs (Would probably want to move him back to SS)
- Red Sox (Lowell is a FA after this year and will likely get attention from a lot of teams after the great year he has had. Plus like New York, Boston has no problem with money. Could you imagine after all the shit yankees fans gave A-Rod his first 4 years there, he could get back at them by signing with the rival, funny shit.)
- LA Angels (Need an everyday 3rd baseman, and have always been interested in Rodriguez)
- Yankees (saying they would not resign him is an example of Cashman and the organization bluffing their asses off)
