If the head of Sony Europe is complaining about it, how soon before the consumers start?

E3 2007: Sony Europe Says Extra 20GB 'Not Enough'
120GB, however, would work.

Sony Computer Entertainment America will introduce a 80GB PlayStation 3 SKU next month, but don't expect that to arrive in Europe. David Reeves, the head of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and the same guy who leaked news that the 60GB SKU is on the way out, said the extra 20GB wasn't enough incentive for consumers.

"You know, the difference between 60 and 80GB is very small," he said. "We just feel that going up 20GB is not worth it; if you're going to double it, it's worth it, so maybe you'll see something a little bit later, but 60 and 80 -- [there's] really not that much difference."

1UP contacted SCEE for clarification on Reeves' points, but have yet to hear back.

You can swap the drive altogether... but he's right... a 20 GB difference is damn near pointless...

I think at this point, 80 gigs is more than enough. There isn't enough content to fill up a 80 gb hard drive. Plus the coolest feature of the PS3 is you can just slap in a bigger hard drive anyways. So even if they upgraded to 120, the upgrade would be pointless. Hard drives are cheap.

There isn't enough content...yet. I guess it depends on whether you're going to download the movies or put music on the hard drive. If you're just going to play games 60 GB is more than enough. Either way the hard drives are more expensive for the consoles than for pc's for what you're getting. In fact it's a rip off.

it's not a rip off because you can use the same kind of hard drive in a ps3

regardless it's easier to just go out and buy a cheap 100 GB HDD or whatever size you want and replace it yourself and it won't void the warranty if you do it right.
