I grew up as a member of a traditionalist Catholic Church...

currently I am non-practicing...

However, I do still maintain a conservative ideology... I am anti-abortion for example....

^^hmmm... my parents are followers of the Catholic Church but for some reason never really carried it on to me... i was baptised though.... but i dont personally believe that has had much effect on my beliefs....

i basically believe what i do now from reading various text, books....ect.

I was born Muslim, but I converted to Christianity at age 12. There was never really any strict emphasis on religion in my house, but clearly I knew that there was something above. I ended up at a Catholic college, but that only made me question my faith a little further. These days, I'm kinda floating around.

I was raised by a Christian Family although we didn't attend church. Then I go into Buddism. I don't practice any specific religion. But I like the concepts that Buddism teaches especially Zen

i believe there is no such thing as someone who believes all the teachings the religion has to offer.

^^interesting....if you were able to find some info on the 'laws of attraction' and paste it up in a thread it would be much appreciated...

i personally base most of my beliefs on a theory called 'the observer effect'...its stems from the fact that nothing would exist without a person to observe it....
its where the sayin "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" stems from.

Well, I like to see myself as somewhat agnostic, but I still believe some metaphysical aspects, like Re-incarnation (hence my votes for buddhaism and hinduism) and also I like some of the things they teach, I don't believe in karma, but it's a nice way to explain why you ought to live as a good person, the story about how Gautama became Gautama is inspiring in itself (I can tell ya if you haven't heard it). Unfortuantely many people don't know exactly what Karma is and therefore misuse the word tho

How can you believe in re-incarnation and not believe in karma? I thought those two go together.

For me Karma doesnt mean EYE FOR AN EYE. Anything negative you do in life will eventually lead to consequenses. An example is drug lords. Ok they live good for the moment but later down the road most of the time they end up with NOTHING.

Frank Lucas, Pablo Escobar are good examples of this.

I believe Karma will get you some way some how and when you least expect it.

I was raised in a Buddhist family so that definitely influenced me the most. I am not a practicing Buddhist, but the Dzogchen tradition I feel the closest to.

I dont believe in the saying "everything happens for a reason"....I believe that things happen just because they do, good and bad things happen to both "good" and "bad" people....Karma to me is just like BoLog said...it's consequences for your actions

law of attraction is the idea that like attracts like. Eliminating negative thoughts and completely focusing on the positives in life

Islam of course, because I am Muslim and it's Allah's religion.

Though I know about the main religions; e.i. Christianity, Judaism...I don't agree with their teachings and following...I am a firm believer of my religion.

when i look around me i see life of all types of creatures, i see great landscapes, and when i look into the sky i see an endless universe how can all this happen thru chance? someone had to create all this thats why im a believer in god. and i also believe that thers only 1 god who created everything.

thats why i believe in islam becuase muslims believe in a pure monotheistic religion.

also dont believe that god could come down to earth in a form of his creation ie. man...that doesnt make sense.

i also dont believe god was multiple because who would take charge? who was the creator? who had the final say? it wouldnt work.......thats why i dont believe in christianity.

GREW UP IN A CHIRSTAIN HOME. AME ZIONIST. I SUNG IN THE COIR. AT A YOUNG AGE I STARTED QUESTIONING MY RELIGION. I BECAME AN ATHEIST. I THINK I WAS 11 OR 12. THAN LATER IN HIGH SCHOOL I WAS WITNESSED TO AND I BECAME A PENTACOSTAL. I EVEN SPOKE IN TOUNGUES OR AT LEAST I THOUGHT I WAS UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO DO THE SAME AND FEEL THE SAME WITH OUT BEING A CHRISTAIN. I WAS A FIRM BELIEVER AND I WOULD GO OUT AND WITNESS TO PPLS TOO. LOL!! THAN I BECAME A "SEVENTH DAY ADVANTICE" FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. AFTER THAT I STILL HAD QUESTIONS AND LEFT THAT ALONE. DURING HIGH SCHOOL I HAD TO DO A REPORT ON BUDDISM. DURING THE RESEARCH FOR THE PAPER I LEARNED ALOT ABOUT BUDDISM AND HOW IT STARTED. I LEARN THAT THE ORIGINAL BUDDA (SIDDHARTHRA GUMTHA<--SP) DID NOT BELIEVE IN GOD BUT IT WAS A WAY OF LIFE. OF COURSE THEIR ARE SEVERAL VERSIONS OF BUDDISM WHERE THEY INCORPARATE GODS AND REINCARNATION BUT THAT IS NOT HOW IT STARTED. I STILL DIDN'T BECOME A BUDDIST BUT I DID LEARN ALOT. SO ANYWAY MOVING ALONG. I MET THIS FEMALE AND SHE GOT ME INTO ISLAM. SHE WAS IN THE NATION OF ISLAM AND I BECAME AN FOI. I STARTED PRACTICING IT. THAN I STARTED FEELING LIKE I WAS IN THE WRONG PLACE PLUS FOUND OUT THAT YOU ARE STILL WAITING FOR A MYSTERY GOD (MOTHER PLANE) TO SOLVE THE PROBLEMS OF THE EARTH. SO THE RELIGEON IS STILL SPOKY. NOW I BELIEVE IN REAL LIFE. AND I DON'T GIVE A FUCK WHO OR WHAT GOD IS. WHO GIVES A FUCK REALLY. WE HERE AND THAT IS ALL I KNOW. TO ME BUDDISM IS THE CLOSES RELIGEON TO WHAT I BELIEVE IN. THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE WITH BUDDISM IS THAT THEY WANT YOU TO LET GO OF YOUR DESIRES AND BECOME ONE WITH THE UNIVERSE BUT WHAT IF YOU WANT DESIRES. AND WHAT IS THE POINT OF LIVING IF YOU DON'T HAVE DESIRES. YEAH IT'S TRUE YOU WILL BE AT PEACE IF YOU DESIRE NOTHING SO IT IS REALISTIC BUT STILL WHY EVEN BE LIVE. SO THAT IS WHY I VOTED FOR BUDDISM BECAUSE IT IS THE CLOSE TO WHAT I BELIEVE. OR AT LEAST THE ORIGINAL BUDDISM.

NO CAUSE I KNOW ABOUT THE OTHER FORMS OF ISLAM. AND I WOULDN'T SAY ANY OF THEM ARE REALER THEN THE OTHER. WHO'S TO SAY WHAT IS REAL. I HAVE THE KORAN AND THAT SHOULD BE THE ONLY SOURCE OF WHAT ISLAM IS. IF THE BOOK DON'T EXPLAIN IT ALL THAN IT MUST BE FAKE.
