just got his book 'Know What I Mean? - reflections on Hip Hop'

its got an Intro by Jay Z and an Outro by Nas, and its written in the format of an album. Seems like its gonna be a great read.

Anyone else read his books. I'm looking to get the tupac one next, but he's written a gang of books that all seem interesting.

not a big fan of Mike Dyson.... he makes brash statements and sometimes it seems he does it just for attention. i remember watching him on the BET hiphop america panel and being tremendously annoyed as he talked in circles using hiphop lyrics to confuse the listeners. just my opinion about mike dyson.

yeah, I respect dude's knowledge and his love of hip hop. Sometimes he does a little too much performing on interviews, with the cadenced speech patterns and instant rap quotes, but I agree with alotta shit he says....

I love Dyson. I heard him speak at my University and that shit damn near changed my life. He is able to communicate and affect people on all levels, from the hood to other scholars.

I agree that he tries to dazzle in his interviews but can you blame him? He is showing people that he is an intelligent black man. I don't necessarily agree with everything he says but I admire his passion and his dedication to knowledge. He articulates his thoughts so well. He says what many people are thinking but they can't express it as well as he does.

The thing I love about him most is that you cannot trip him up or try to put words in his mouth. Forget about winning a debate against him. I'd like to see Bill O'reilly try to do to Dyson what he did to krs-one and other rappers. Dyson will make him look like a fool. He proves that you can have high education and still love and support Hip Hop. We need more people like him, more educated people in the Hip Hop and black community.
