This may be old, but we were discussing this at the Mosque today.
My favorite scholar/imam Anwar al-awlaki was arrested and jailed in conspiracy of terrorism by U.S., here's the story.
Tell me what y'all think, also I have all his audio lectures, and he's an upcoming prominent scholar.

Imam Anwar al-Awlaki, a U.S. citizen has been arrested and detained in Yemen since August 31, 2006. The U.S. government has been after the imam since 2001. Another reason why this “war on terror” looks more and more like a war on Islam or as Abu Eesa says a “War Against Truth“.

In the early hours of October 17, a Yemeni secret police raid swept up eight foreigners living in Sana’a, under surveillance by the CIA and British intelligence, and at least 12 other men across Yemen. Yemeni authorities insist they dismantled an al-Qa’ida cell and disrupted a gun-running ring to neighbouring Somalia.
It was subsequently reported that the key to the raids was Anwar Al Awlaki (identified in the media as ‘Abu Atiq’) who was arrested six weeks before the October 17 swoop. Media reports allege that ‘Abu Atiq’ was an associate of two of the September 11 hijackers and a protege of Abdul al-Majid al-Zindani, who the US wants arrested on terror charges. They also make mention of his alleged role in a foiled al-Qa’ida plot to bomb oil and gas facilities in Yemen.
He is believed to be held in Central Security Prison in Sana’a. Locals in Sanaa insist, perhaps apocryphally, that the two stories of the complex above ground sit atop eight stories underground, where torture rooms and darkened cells are often used. Whether or not people are tortured there, Western officials and aid groups are adamant that torture is regularly used in Yemen on terror suspects, or political prisoners.

hmmm... i am not really wantin to make a judgement about him as a person, seein it hasnt been proved that he actually was involved in those incidents.
But what concerns me the most is the whole talk of torture rooms.... that sorta shit raises issues beyond the 'terrorism' these people are claimin to be against...
DaSun i would like to hear your opinion on the issue.

Sorry, but I'm riding with the safety of my family on this one. If dude is innocent then he should be free. But if he condones and comspires with people that blow up women and children, behead reporters, bomb buildings in my country, attacks, barracks, shoot people who are risking their lives to help people who have been pursecuted by dictators and relish in the death of americans without any respect to them as human beings. fuck him.

Well, I think what the U.S. trying to do is wrong, they always go after the high prominent ones that can give and speak of knowledge and can carry on the religion, as we know it, U.S. is against Islam and Anwar al-Awlaki was preaching young Muslims like I to step up and do what's right and follow into the straight path, but he never spoke or was interested in terrorism, they got that wrong.

^^i could run with that.... people fear wat they dont understand.... so they first reaction is to get rid of it.... America keeps no secrets about how it feels toward the religion of islam....so the conspiracy your impling sounds appropraite.
BUT as ibar is sayin if duke has been related to terrorism and certains proofs arise and directly link him to the situation than that would be a great waste of intelligence, and his fate would quickly be decide.
hopefully duke is in the right.

i don't know what this straight path is and don't care. your straight path could be kill all infidels or it could be let's get along. at the end of the day we are responsible for our actions. if he hasn't done anything wrong then he should be release. but if he is involved in the type of shit I mentioned earlier. then you already know what my comment is about the subject. I don't wish harm on no man. But won't ever shed a tear for one that would want to see me or my family beheaded or blown to bits.

In some regards yes. I am not a person to make a crazy statement like all politicians are liars, all cops are crooked, and all muslims are terrorist. case by case is how i look at things. it is called thinking. what's the point of having a brain if you don't use it?

One day you are like fuck the government to next day you are picking up heart mediation for a family member that was allowed to e sold by the FDA. life is crazy like that.

I want to say no, but ..... I like to say I am extremely pro humanitarian. But I am not. I care but the welfare of my family is always paramount. I hate to think I would not mind seeing someone's right impacted for the sake of my family's safety. But I would lose too much sleep on it.

My question is, how satisfied would y'all be if all of a sudden, 'proof' of his terror contributions surfaced? I know there's more than a few people here that take things on face value but I don't..... How can we "prove" that any "proof" the U.S. media puts on the television is actually real? I mean....how easy would it be for them (the U.S.) to doctor, tamper with, manipulate and change the evidence in order to paint this guy as the enemy? Not like it hasn't already been done before....
(see: the countless number of Bin Laden home videos with a different guy playing him each time, the flight manifest of the plane that crashed into the Pentagon, the rapidly confiscated surveillance footage which would have shown the crash clear as day, the passports of the supposed hijackers that miraculously weren't destroyed despite everything else being pulverized...and then the accused "terrorist" actually ends up being alive!!)
I'm not trying to play "Conspiracy Theorist" because these are all actual facts that can't be disputed.....so how credible is ANYTHING that gets reported by the U.S. government/military/media when it comes to this so-called war?

I don't believe anything our government says about anything except my gas is going up, interest rates are going down and my home is actually owned by the bank but can be upsurped from me by the government at a whim. That being said I still rather them handle percieved threats than me have to deal with the know threat. History will sort this mess out later.

I'm all about freedom and peace. If that's his stance he shouldn't be kidnapped. Hopefully he isn't involved with some evil shit. I know you can't take anything on face value. But then again I paranoid with trust issues. lol.
Everybody deserves to see their kids grow up and achieve the most they can in life. If more people felt that way maybe things would be cooler.
