Glavine will be a nice number 4 pitcher for Atlanta but the Braves don't scare me at all how many runs will they score? They have no shortstop, no centerfield and their rotation is made up of 40 year olds. Not really worried about the Braves.

The Braves were 3rd in runs scored last year. They wouldn't have traded away Renteria if they didn't feel that Esco could man the job, he did excellent while Edgar was injured (batted .326 in 94 games/319 ABs) And Druw didn't help us much last season anyways (check his avg w/ RISP, it was below .200) It seemed as if he never came through during at the times we needed him most. He always drove in runs at the times we were winning by 5 or more. If anything, we'll be missing his glove the most, where he saved us many runs throughout his time in Atlanta. With a lineup including K. Johnson, Escobar, Chipper, Big Tex, Francouer, McCann, and Diaz i don't see any trouble in scoring runs!!!!
with all this talk about runs lets just stop and remember how the Braves won their division 14 years in a row, it certainly wasn't because of their bats. It was their pitching!

im laughing at the 40 yr old remark, Smoltz is better than your whole rotation put together. In fact, you don't have much of a rotation at all!!! Should you be worried about the Braves, yes.

yeah i read about this yesterday. i am a braves fan so this is good news to me, our starting pitching struggled after smoltz and hudson so it should provide relief for the bullpen and maybe keep us in more games

Yeah and let me remember last year we pretty much beat Smoltz everytime the only loss we had to him was the game Glavine pitched lol. Don't get me wrong the Braves are a good team I'm not gonna front on them but they haven't won anything for 2 years now and their bullpen isn't all that to carry a 40 year pitching squad and Hampton hasn't been healthy since he left us. Thye whole division has pitching issues really so it just looks like its gonna be one of those years where anyone could win it.

^^^ Smoltz beat you more than 1 time. We won the first 3 games he faced you.
"bullpen isn't all that to carry a 40 year pitching squad "
^^^ Glavine has pitched over 200 innings practically his whole career. Age has nothing to do with how many innings he will give us. If Smoltz and Glavine stay healthy, they will both go over 200 innings.
"Hampton hasn't been healthy since he left us."
^^^ So he was injured during those 812 innings he pitched after he left the Mets?

How effective has Glavine and Hampton really been? Hampton did nothing in Colorado and Glavine for the duration of his Mets tenure was a .500 pitcher.
