Sheff On Abreu: "I've Done More For The Yankees Than He Will Ever Do"

The more time that passes until the Yankees trade Gary Sheffield, the more opportunities he will have to be vocal in his criticsm.
“I’ve done more for the Yankees than he will ever do,” Sheffield said of Bobby Abreu. “When you lose your spot on a team, it should be because the other guy is better than you, but that’s not the case here. Why was I not given a chance to compete for the right-field job?”
“If George Steinbrenner was feeling better, my situation would already be resolved,” said Sheffield, who went on to take a thinly veiled shot at Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman and members of his staff when he said, “I’ve been dealing with too many middle men, too many guys who like to block my phone calls and get in the way.”
