I've brought this subject up elsewhere and I've caught a few hatemails because of it for some reason...

Is suicide really selfish? Because in my eyes (I've thought of doing it) suicide is a way for you not only to get out of your problems, but also to help others getting rid of a burden, because you see yourself as one and think people hate you, and that is what depresses you often, and then the suicide is a way of helping both other people AND your self, what do you say?

Personally, I think it's selfish. God's gift to you is life and to throw it away I belive is wrong. Even if you yourself aren't a great person I still believe you have a chance to change things and do the right thing. My friend told me about a documentary on Palestine about how a 9 year old girl was trying to hang herself because she didn't see a reason for living. Situations like that I can't speak on because I never grew up in a war-torn area. I still think you should do you best to keep going.

I had a friend who committed suicide and I had a dream of him after he died asking me if I forgave him. I was young and I never really understood. But who knows, maybe he asked all of his old friends what they thought and if they forgave him maybe he would make his way into the next life peacefully.

I agree with life being a gift but then again a retarded dog can give birth to. I think the piece people don't look at is the pain the suicidal person is in. the main point is that it is there life. so it could be looked at as selfish but what isn't these days?

I understand that! And I agree, but if you ask depressed people, they'll say that they feel like a burden to people

Depends when you're suiciding your life. For the sake of God, then it's not selfish but a job that needs to be done for God or toward the religion.

For example, the Muslim suicide bomber, do you think they do that for fun or their names to be known? NO!!!
They do it because they're in oppression and they turn toward the religion and seek it to move it forward. e.i.

Personally I wouldn't do it, but if it came to me fighting for the religion Islam, then knowing my reward in the afterlife...then I wouldn't hesitate.

suicide bomers are not martyrs. they are murderers that happen to die during the commission of a crime against humanity. no reward for cowards and to put them in the same category as a depressed or person in pain is offensive and perverted as hell.

You need to think of this life as just one level to gain a degree.. if you drop out, all you going to have to do is repeat that level of education when you come back cause you aint learn shit, which is a complete waste of time, same with life, every life you live is just a learning experience, ending it, and you didn't learn shit so when you come back you gonna have to do it over until you learn the life lessons that was intended for you to learn in this life.. what those lessions are, who knows, but as you live life you will figure it out, but ending it, means you didn't learn shit and your going to have to repeat it again.. About the suicide bomber thing, that type of life ending could be a lession of courage, the bomber died for what he believed was right and had the courage to do it, so he learned his life lession. But hanging yourself just because kids make fun of you in school = not learning shit, so yep you gonna repeat this life again by doing that, and it could end up being worst on the next life.. just something to think about..

Ultimately it is the persons choice and I believe depression can make someone feel like they are a burden, not because the person grew up thinking that way. I think it's a sad thing because I believe all of us have potential to do great things.

I don't agree with suicide bombers, but I understand what has driven them to do such a thing.

lol. it is so funny how people are fooled. suicide bombers are fags. courage is dying for a cause. courage is standing up for something and dealing with the repurcussions. real men, real heroes are jesus, mlk, x, and others that stood up did the right thing knowing what was going to happen. mlk didn't give the I have a dream speech then go out and blow himself up. that would be cowardice not heroic. lol, such and such is a hero because he blew himself up on a bus as he murdered 50 people just try to by food for their family at the local market. lol, that's heroic. all it is a lethal sucker punch. talk about def, dumb, and blind. lol, intelligence is wasted when all you do with it is follow.

As for suicide. It only seems selfish because the people left behind can't understand the person's pain.

IT DEPENEDS ON THE PERSON. SOME PEOPLE NEED TO COMMIT SUICIDE. THE WORLD WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE. LOL!!! JUST KIDDIN. BUT FUCK IT. IF YOU DON'T LIKE BEING HERE THEN FUCK IT. DONT BE HERE. INSTEAD OF COMMITING SUICIDE. JUST WILD THE FUCK OUT. INSTEAD OF LIVING WITH PAIN WHY NOT DO ALL TYPES OF RISKY SHIT AND HAVE FUN DOING IT. GO TO WORK AND CUSS YOUR OPPRESSIVE BOSS OUT IN FRONT OF EVERYONE. WHAT YOU GOT TO LOSE.....LIFE....THE THING THAT YOU WERE GONNA TAKE ANYWAY. FUCK IT HAVE FUN. GO ALL OUT WITH IT. FACE YOUR ENEMIES KNOWING THAT THEY CARE ABOUT THIER LIFE AND YOU DON'T. NOW YOU HAVE AN ADVANTAGE. YOU ARE WILLING TO DO SHIT THAT THEY ARE NOT BECAUSE THEY ARE SCARED TO LOSE THEIR LIFE.

YEAH I AGREE. KILLING INOCENT PEOPLE IS NOT BEING HEROIC. IF THEY DID IT TO KILL THE REAL ENEMY OR COMBATENTS, SPIES, ETC...THAN I CAN SEE IT BEING HEROIC.
