Think about it....

I was thinking about this the other day. Isn't it kind of ironic that, we the hip hop generation, go around saying "Hip Hop is dead!". We scream it at the top of our lungs. If Hip hop is dead, then perhaps we're saying that OUR GENERATION is dead. We have no leaders, no one to look up to. We're oversaturated and consumed by mass commercialization.

I think it's crazy how willing people are to jump behind a group of people , wether it's hip hop or anything , couple people said it was dead , now all of a sudden the words "Hip Hop is dead" are posted every 2 . 5 seconds online , I don't think it's dead it's evolving , I mean Hip Hop doesn't sound the same today as it did when the Sugar Hill Gang we're doing things , I bet if you look back in time , people may have had the same type of thoughts when N.W.A. , Ice T and others started gangster rap , I mean I think it's great that Hip Hop is broadening into this monstrosity , I'm not saying I get into the snap dance shit , I'm to damn big to be dancing , nobody needs to see all that .

yeah i aint never said 'hiphop is dead' for the exact reason that 'hiphop' varies by definition. If a dude says 'Hiphop is dead' then i assume that he is listenin to the wrong type of hiphop.... coz my hiphops alive n well and always will be.

...cats sayin shit like "damn this year was a terrible year for hiphop" causes me to wonder when did hiphop ever become about new shit... i mean it aint like fashion... hiphop heads aint meant to be constantly searchin for new classics... aint meant to be searchin for the newest trends...
...classics appear naturally.... n by desperately searchin they make it evident that their view of hiphop can be related to a fad.

You hit the nail on the head , since when did hip hop become about whats new , if thats the case I'm gonna start walking around saying "Predator is dead" , because these new Alien Vs. Predators are not fucking with the original Predator movies in my opinion , good point Vexed.
