In preparation for the Nas board mixtape, I need a complete up to date list of the emcees and producers takin' part in this. I need to know what your situations are, what you can contribute, all of that...

What I mean by situations is if you have access to some professional sound equipment, aint' necessarily got to be a studio, but just somethin' to make your vocals clear. Somebody who knows somebody who can master sh** would be helpful also. Also, we need peeps who's gonna be on the board everyday or every other day because we need to get ish done, nahmean....

So, without further adieu, let's get this list goin....

I'm already slated to drop some beats on this joint, about 6+ beats....

vex what kind of programs u messing with. If you can get a a good condenser mic like a cheap shure or marshall that would be great

don't get marshall... roll with the shure or an audio technica... but i guess at the 100 rates it don't really matter.. but shure and audio technica are more respected brands in audio

We're puttin' about 16 tracks on this mixtape. Albemarle and I got about 9 possible beats already that we're considering. One joint is about 50% done already. Yo Albe, we need to compile those 9, well 8 really since "The Essence" track is about half done, and send them to the list of peeps up above. What you think about that?

We probably, all of us, need to polly about the concepts of the tracks so that we can all be on the same page, one track at a time...

I said Marshall cause they are cheap, dependable and if you get the right one; it will do the job compared to kats trying to spit into pc mics or head phones.

I got a couple of Marshall mics that I use all the time as well as Audio Techs and even though the audio techs are more expensive and is a bit better it all really comes down to the mixing and mastering. If we don't get clean signals coming in then there isn't going to be alot that we can do to clean it up. I figured most kats on here are on a budget and are not on the professional level yet.

But if u can afford the Audio Tech or more exspensive mike then go for it.

Nope, we can go off the strength of the beats duke, but we still need to make sure peeps are on the same page on the beats. We got to make sure the subject matter is at least similar on the track, nahmean?

it doesnt really come down to the mixing and mastering..because a mix with a recording from a marshall and from a neuman is gonna be 100 times difference... audio techs arent even that more expensive.. their AT2020 is only $100. It's rugged too and won't fall apart. and like person above said, "if we don't get a clean signal coming in then there isnt going to be a lot that we can do to clean it up"...so go for the best condenser mic in that cheap $100 and under range, AT2020. The Marshall is around $70-$80 i think? if you have $70-%$80 already you should be able to save an extra $20 more to get the AT2020.
