i've only given it a couple fo spins, and thats while doin revision so haven;t been concentratin on it

but her vocals are better here than her previous two album, she belts alot more

the sound is kinda unorigional contemporary neo-soul but compared to the kind of sound she had in her other two albums, the sound on this one is different

the sound is definately more mature - she's not tryin to sing this time, which i think its sounds like she's done in her past album
she sings to fit the song and refreshingly it means she's not oversinging in some places

album definately has replay value

music - lauryn ft. lauryn hill : i have issues with this track. It SHOULD be the best track on the album. A soul veteran and a up coming soultress. What we needed to hear is lauryn singing and teachin lauryn how its done. Instead lauryn sings - unremarkably - and lauryn raps sayin everything and nothing at the same time. And the beat is mellow and nothin amazing. But at the same time - the song is a definate change of pace to the rest of the album - taking it as if u were listening to the song before and after - it's simple and emotive. So initially, you kinda feel robbed by the uncomplexity of the song but i think the song's simplicity makes it stand out in the middle of two meaningless soul/funk/r&B tracks so it works out pretty well.

tell me what we're gonna do know ft. common - i think the song samples 'no woman no cry' or another song i'm sure. About this song, i think it's weak. Her vocal production sucks. Her singin is good but her melodies suck - maybe the weakest on the album and common trys to rescue the tracks whilst joss jitteryily sings "ye--e-e-a-a-e-a-e-a-a-h-" but overall the song needed mroe common, less joss and overall a dissappointment - the track i skip.

other than that, the album is a cominbination of trivial upbeat songs with a sexier/hip hop/drum edge, some nice slow soul tracks and a couple of weak songs BUT definately her best album (imo) so far and worth dling and listnein to.

ROLLING STONE Review - 3/5

Joss Stone is a nineteen-year-old Brit with a huge voice that packs grit and diva-tude beyond its years. There are a couple of moments on Stone's third album when she clobbers a melody with enough showy vocal oomph to make even Christina Aguilera fans squirm. But for the most part, Stone employs her remarkable instrument with focus and nuance on Introducing, and the result is an album full of solid pop-wise R&B. Warm acoustic funk grooves and strong melodies are all over classic-soul-infused cuts like "Baby Baby Baby" and big, bright stuff like "Put Your Hands on Me." Getting cameos from Common and Lauryn Hill on an album like this is like inviting Barbra Streisand to sing at the Democratic National Convention: pretty frigging obvious. But those two songs are pretty good, too.
