ROLLINNG STONE Review: 3/5
"Rehab," the must-hear song that opens the second album from British soul singer Amy Winehouse, is a Motown-style winner with a banging beat and a lovesick bad girl testifying like Etta James about how she won't clean up her act. It's followed by the excellently funky "You Know I'm No Good" and "Me & Mr. Jones (Fuckery)," the latter of which begins, "What kind of fuckery is this?/You made me miss the Slick Rick gig." Winehouse is a nervy, witty songstress whom indie rockers, pop fans and hip-hoppers can dig. On Black, she gets help from producers Salaam Remi and Mark Ronson, who turn classic soul sounds into something big, bright and punchy. The tunes don't always hold up. But the best ones are impossible to dislike: Witness "Addicted," a wistful gem in which Winehouse chooses weed over a lover.

Acamron: 5/5
Amy Winehouse is the most exciting artist to appear in a long, dark fortnight. "Back to Black" is like heroin...the first time you give it a listen, it's mildly enjoyable. The second time even moreso, and by the third time you've hit the ole play button, it'll be on repeat until you're shooting up in between your toes (or the musical listening equivalent). True, there is a filler track or two, I won't deny it. But the stregnth of "Rehab", "You Know I'm No Good", the bitter ballad "Love is a Losing Game" and that song about hoarding weed at the end of the disc make up for the boring bits. 5 stars all around!

THIS ALBUM is sooooo good I listen to it at least once a week... We had it in my job and uploaded it to iTunes and once I heard it I thought she sounded like Lauryn, come to find out she's a skinny drug addict!

I'm really missing the boat on this one. I don't think she has a good voice and the lyrics seem boring to me. I think fiona apple was a better white girl album. imo of course. this chick is boring production and lyrical content that borders on comical.

Save the ear drums, and stay away from bad records.
